High pressure on a roof strips the granules off the shingles. It looks clean and it costs you years of roof life.
It gets contained. The City of Vancouver Sewer and Watercourse Bylaw sets real limits on what can enter a storm drain — suspended solids, grease, pH. Pressure washing runoff exceeds those limits without containment equipment, and that is the property owner's exposure as much as the contractor's.
