A clean gutter that leaks is still a broken gutter.
Most exterior companies clean gutters and stop there. If a corner is dripping or a run has dropped out of level, you get told about it and handed a phone number for someone else. Ideal Pro carries the tools and the materials to fix it on the same visit.
What gets repaired
- Leaking corners and seams — old sealant removed back to clean metal, joint resealed properly. Running fresh sealant over failed sealant buys a season at most.
- Holes, splits and rust perforation — patched and sealed, or the section replaced where the metal has gone.
- Sagging runs — realigned and resloped so water actually reaches the downspout instead of standing in the middle of the run.
- Brackets, hangers and spikes — replaced where they have pulled out of the fascia. On older west-side homes the fascia board itself is often the real problem, and you will hear that before anything is charged.
- Downspouts — repaired, replaced, rerouted, extended, or newly installed where a roofline is dumping water in the wrong place.
- Gutter guards — supplied and installed, matched to your roof pitch and the tree cover on your lot.
- End caps, mitres and outlets — resealed or replaced.
What is not offered
Full replacement of an entire gutter system is not a service here. If a run is beyond economical repair you will be told plainly, and pointed toward someone who does installation. Quoting a repair on a system that needs replacing helps nobody.
Why gutters fail on the west side specifically
Shaughnessy sits at 41% tree canopy cover and Dunbar-Southlands at 35% — among the highest in the city. That means heavy, sustained organic loading through autumn, and wet debris is far heavier than people expect. A packed 40-foot run can carry well over a hundred pounds of saturated leaf matter.
That weight is what pulls hangers out of fascia and drops runs out of level. The leak that shows up in November usually started as a sag in September. It is also why repair and cleaning belong together: the clean reveals the damage, and the damage is what actually costs you.
How the work runs
Inspect
The full run is checked for level, seam condition, hanger security and downspout flow. Photographs of anything found.
Price
You get the repair price before any of it happens. Nothing is added to your invoice that you have not approved first.
Repair
Sealant back to clean metal, runs relevelled, fasteners replaced, downspouts corrected.
Test
Water run through the system end to end so you can see it drains where it should before I leave.
